SLIPKNOT's first show since CRAIG JONES split: See setlist and video

New mystery band member played in Jones' place

Today (June 7th) was a weird day in Slipknot land. Weirder than usual, that is.

The Iowan masked maniacs were scheduled to kick off their 2023 European tour tonight at the Nova Rock festival in Nickelsdorf, Austria, then came the news that Shawn "Clown" Crahan, the band's co-founding percussionist and conceptualist, would be missing the group's upcoming shows due to his wife's health issues. Next, dropped the bombshell: Slipknot had parted ways with spiky-masked keyboardist and sampler Craig Jones, who had been in the group for the last 27 years.

But the show must go on, and go on it did.

Down two longtime band members, and with an unidentified masked individual onstage in Jones' place, Slipknot forged ahead, roaring through an epic 16-song set including live staples such as "People = Shit, "Duality" and "Psychosocial," as well as some killer deep cuts: "The Blister Exists" and "Purity," both for the first time since 2015, "Liberate," for the first time since 2016, and "Yen," in its live debut.

Also notable, though massively overshadowed by the day's major stories, Slipknot's Jay Weinberg played his first show in his toothy new mask, which the drummer teased last night in a brief video and fully revealed this morning with a photo post.
