Holy shit! South African deathcore band Vulvodynia have fired founding vocalist Duncan Bentley after he allegedly tried to kill their drummer, Thomas Hughes.

The details were shared May 7th in a brutal post on the band's Facebook, in which the group's remaining members revealed that Bentley had been terminated due to "recurring uncontrollable violence," including a recent incident where he allegedly "threatened and tried to kill our drummer, Tom," putting Hughes in the hospital with several gnarly injuries. The post contains graphic photos of Hughes' battered face and a floor splattered with what's presumably his blood.

Elsewhere in the message, the band warn fans not to trust Bentley, characterizing him as a "manipulator, psychopath and compulsive liar," and claiming that the vocalist still has access to their Facebook and has been deleting posts.

In a follow-up post Hughes shared several hours later on his personal account, the drummer went into more detail about the alleged physical altercation, claiming that Bentley's battle with alcohol abuse had created tensions within Vulvodynia, and that the fight stemmed from Hughes asking Bentley if he had been drinking during a period when he was supposed to be sober.

Notably, all of this turmoil has been happening while Vulvodynia are currently on tour in Europe, and they've continued to play their scheduled shows despite Bentley's now-permanent absence from the band.

"So we are sure you've all been wondering whats going on and you deserve to know," Vulvodynia wrote in their initial post. "Due to recent events and recurring uncontrollable violence from Duncan Bentley, we can no longer have him in the band.

"This has been something we have been considering even before this tour, but had to just continue and try our best because the financial losses would have been too devastating. He threatened and tried to kill our drummer, Tom. Tom ended in hospital and sustained various injuries including a badly broken nose. This is also not the first time he's attacked Tom and displayed this type of violence. Its been a recurring problem for a while. We thought it was alcohol related but we now know it's just who he is.

"We will be continuing the tour without him. We are going to try make plans to get some friends who are vocalists to help us out on the way and still bring you the best show possible. Tom is absolutely destroyed and in pain but he's willing to try finish up the tour and we will do our best. As many of you might know, the cost of touring is insanely high and we would like to finish the tour to help us cover our costs."

"Please do not trust Duncan," they added. "He is a manipulator, psychopath and compulsive liar. He will try take us down after this and we just need you all to know the truth. Duncan somehow still has access to our Facebook and is deleting posts."

In Hughes' follow-up post, which was shared by the band on Facebook, the drummer emphasizes that the fight was not merely a drunken brawl between bandmates. Hughes claims that the band were out on the town having a good night, when Bentley's behavior grew increasingly "erratic and irritable and unnecessarily mean about people and towards homeless people." When Hughes approached Bentley about it later in the night, that's when the singer allegedly lost his cool and began attacking his bandmate.

As Hughes tells it, Bentley had exhibited similar behaviors roughly a month ago on a Vulvodynia tour of the Philippines, when Hughes asked Bentley if he had been drinking, and the singer allegedly "snapped and attacked me, punching me multiple times, breaking my ribs."

Later in the post, Hughes mentioned that Vulvodynia had ensured Bentley wasn't abandoned in "a random country with nothing," but that he had the necessary funds to fly back home to South Africa. Lastly, despite all that Hughes has allegedly endured from Bentley, the drummer hopes the singer can get his life together, and doesn't wish any violence is inflicted his way.

"I hope he is able get the treatment he needs and get better," Hughes wrote. "He will never be in the band again, but I hope that he can get treated and sort his life out. I do not wish any violence against him and hope he can get his life sorted."
