In a recent interview on 'Rock Show With Daniel P Carter,' Deftones frontman Chino Moreno said the release date for the band's upcoming album to be September 25.

As for progress on the actual album, Moreno said, "The record as far as music has been all recorded and I am currently working on the vocals. I've been recording from my home studio here in Oregon. Slowly but surely getting it done. It's coming out really good, it's another Deftones record, I feel like us reaching a little bit, getting more into… The song structures, trying to challenge ourselves a little bit you know what I mean? It's sounding good, I think it's gonna be a great record."

For the rest of the interview, you can read it on the 'Rock Show With Daniel P Carter's' website.

April 14-15: Toronto
This was our first time ever crossing an international border ... Needless to say we were a little nervous with all the stories from the other bands and stage crew.  So we got as much advice from other bands as possible when it comes to what to take over, the money exchange, make sure you CLEAN THE VAN (wink wink).

So we arrive in Niagara Falls and book a hotel room to leave majority of our stuff just to cross the border with the bare minimum of stuff we needed for our Toronto show. Cleaned the van thoroughly and went out to have a nice bro meal. It's definitely hard to eat good on the road especially cause every stop is timed and we have places to be a lot of the time, it's fast food or nothing, so sitting down to an actual meal.. Even if it's at Chili's, is something that's cherished by all of us.

Next day, we have a van call to head to the border at 6 A.M. Crossing was a piece of cake, 15 minutes tops. According to everyone else we just got lucky and be thankful that we did!!  We get to the show pretty early for a change so we have some time to walk around and explore the city of Toronto, very beautiful city! Show time was set up a little differently. Everything was pushed back so it allowed more people to show up early to catch us.  I tell the guys all the time no show is an automatic win for us. These fans aren't coming out here to discover a new band, they are here for Testament and Exodus every single night, so we need to get out there every night and earn it from them. Earn their attention for the small bit of time we have up there. That's our battle cry every fucking night and so far so good!!!  Toronto was amazing to us and we definitely made some new fans. We can't wait to come back as soon as possible ... Coming from little 'ol Alice Texas it meant the world to us to be accepted in a different country. Amazing feeling that we will never forget !!!

April 16: Niagara Falls
The Rapids Theater is one of the oldest and most beautiful venues we have ever played at. It was an honor to play on that stage given all of its history. One of the best shows of the tour for us. It is truly amazing to see as this tour goes on we have fans making it out to see the show. People singing along to the singles, the way the crowd responded to us ... Just unreal sometimes!!  So rumors got around that this place was haunted and sure enough Chuck comes into our room and says, "You guys wanna go on a ghost hunt?" You know we said, "Fuck ya we do!!!" So after everything closed out the owner took members of the whole tour on a tour of the place, under ground tunnels and air shafts. We took a bunch of pics and tried talking to the ghosts. Their names are Howard and Mary—a stage hand and a performer that passed away down there. We picked up some pretty freaky stuff on photos heard some crazy ass shit! No lie even though there was about 15 of us it was still pretty scary. I kept saying they can't fucking take us all, too much metal in this group!!!  Finished the whole thing up with a shot to pay respects to the deceased. GREAT NIGHT.

April 17: New Jersey
This day was very special for a lot of reasons. All our managers told us how special this place was and how much it meant to the for us to be there. Some of Jonny Z's longtime friends Chris and Pattie Homeny and their whole crew came out and fired pp those BBQ pits for us!!  They really gave us all the royal treatment. Pulled pork, ribs, beer and our famous Jalapeño Poppers (peppers stuffed with cream cheese wrapped in bacon). Glad we are able to call them some of our best friends too, much love to them for doing that. Chris knows how much I love to BBQ but it's a little hard to do on the road so they came out and took care of all of us!!!  Also our manager Maria Ferrero and the whole Adrenaline PR team were there. Not only is she our manager, but she is the one who discovered us and we really wanted to show her how much we have grown on tour and how thankful we are to have her a part of our team. We love her to death and so glad she could be there to see us kill it!!  Lots of fun time with the family!

April 18: NEW ENGLAND METAL FEST!!!
OH FUCK YA!!! The show we have been waiting for!!  The second we saw this date we knew it was gonna be insane ... Got there early at 11 A.M. a lot the place was lined with bands. We were so damn excited and nervous at the same time. We handled a lot of press that day and finished right on time to get our gear ready for a 2:20pm time slot.  It was so rushed but awesome at the same time cause it was like too quick to worry or be nervous. The guy on stage screaming how much time you left in the change over. Heart just pumping hard, quickest line check ever "kick, bass, stage left guitar...GO!!!"  Before we knew it we were already into the first song!! Great crowd response and another show where people seem to know us and some of the music, which is very awesome to see. It was an honor to play that festival and hopefully we will be invited back next year. We were done with everything by 4 P.M. so we took that opportunity to get a hotel room and get some much needed rest.

April 19: Huntington N.Y.
Such an amazing venue! One of the awesome things about being on this tour is all the amazing venues we get to play in and get to know. We all are really into staying fit and let's face it tour life doesn't lend itself to that very well, but you have to find the time and place somehow. We are sponsored by a local supplements company in our hometown called "Get A Grip" they were kind enough to hook us up with all the essentials (pre-work out, protein, multi-vitamins). A scoop of pre and an empty parking lot... Time to get to work!!! Got a nice work out in before lunch. Always good to sweat a little bit and get your body right especially how we live out here.  Show was great! Had a lot of room so we got to do our thing up there and get a little crazy. I noticed to stage right that there was a man and another man in a chair, paralyzed. Every time I walked to that side of the stage I noticed he would light up and was really getting into it. He was there for a night of metal just like everyone else and seeing him rocking out to us and in his Testament shirt I had to show them some love, before we started "The Ultimatum," I went over to that side of the stage and dedicated the song to him and got the whole crowd to cheer for him... It was awesome. Things like that matter and I'm sure it wasn't easy coming out to a packed metal show but the fact remains that he is there for the same reason as everyone else to see his favorite band, Testament.  I won't ever forget that!  Took the time to watch some of Exodus and Testament—man, seeing Zet and Chuck every night is fucking inspiring to me!  Everything I see and learn from them just makes me wanna be a better musician. They are the definition of the word front man and everything I aspire to be like. Thankful to have them both to look to for advice. They have both been there for us since day one.

That's what I got guys... Hope you enjoyed this little look into the life of Shattered Sun and The Dark Roots of Thrash II Tour!
