Chicago-based progressive black metallers Nachtmystium signed a North American deal with Century Media Records. The group's first offering through the label will be the Eulogy IV re-release this fall, which will be followed by an all new full-length disc next year that will also feature acclaimed drummer Tony Laureano (ex-Dimmu Borgir, Nile).

Founding member Blake Judd (vocals, guitars) says:

"We are very excited and honored to be working with Century Media, a label whom over the years has showcased a ferocious dedication to extreme music. Grave, Tiamat, Samael and countless other bands active in the early 90's were some of the first bands to inspire us endlessly to create our own metal music. We anticipate a great working relationship and hope to embark on a joint ascension to metal superiority together!"

Originally formed in 1999 by Judd, Nachtmystium started off as a raw, primitive black metal band with a very derivative Norsk black metal influence. They released a number of records on underground labels such as Regimental Records and Autopsy Kitchen Records, etc. before delivering Eulogy IV in 2004, ushering in a new musical direction and 'psychedelic'-era.

In 2006, the group released Instinct: Decay, which drew massive amounts of press compared to previous efforts, landing in numerous top-ten lists.

Throughout the course of the past three years, Nachtmystium toured heavily with the likes of 1349, Boris, Goatwhore, Sunno))), Angelcorpse and Watain, among countless others. They also co-headlined the Overcast Music and Arts Festival in June of 2006 and most recently performed on the main stage at this year's renowned New England Metal and Hardcore festival.

Nachtmystium exists in a genre all of it's own and in 2008 look to deliver an album that continues to push the boundaries of conventionality to new levels.

Death-grinders SUICIDE SILENCE have chosen The Cleansing as the title to their debut album, which is set for a Sept. 18th release. A new track, "Unanswered," has just been posted on

the band's official MySpace page (www.myspace.com/suicidesilence) along with the disc's cover art and official track listing.

This new effort was recorded with producer John Travis (Static-X), while the Tue Madsen (Himsa, The Haunted) handled mixing duties. The artwork for The Cleansing was handled by the Dave McKean (Mirrormask, Sandman comics).

"From the very beginning, we wanted artwork that would separate ourselves from other bands and add some value to the purchase so fans would be less prone to simply download the record," says vocalist Mitch Lucker. "Dave went above and beyond helping us achieve that as he created an entire layout that exceeded our expectations and further enhanced the album artistically."

Los Angeles, CA - June 21, 2007 — A limited edition of Slayer's 2006 album, Christ Illusion, will have a July 24 simultaneous global release (American Recordings), and will feature new songs, a bonus DVD and new cover art - a lenticular image of a hand bleeding from a crucifixion wound.

The special limited edition Christ Illusion is being released in tandem with the band's co-headline summer trek with Marilyn Manson, kicking off July 25 in West Palm Beach, FL (tour dates below).

The Christ Illusion limited edition will be a two-disc package featuring an alternate version of the track "Black Serenade" and a brand new song, "The Final six," a chilling look at the end of the world, that was written by Slayer bassist/vocalist Tom Araya and guitarist Jeff Hanneman, and produced by Josh Abraham.

The bonus DD features the captivating video for the track "Eyes of the Insane," which was directed by Iranian filmmaker Tony Petrossian and won Slayer their first-ever Grammy award as "Best Metal Performance." The video is a first-person narrative about the horrors leading up to the final moments of a soldier at war. The entire video is a single, long and tight close-up of a soldier's eye with images clearly reflected within his pupil and iris, perfectly choreographed with the rhythm of the music. In addition, a live performance of the 1988 Slayer classic "South of Heaven," filmed in Vancouver on last year's Unholy Alliance Tour, and Slayer on Tour 07, a five-minute live-and-behind-the-scenes, all-hand-held documentary-style montage of footage shot when the band was on tour earlier this year in the U.S. and Australia, are included on the DVD.
