BornToLose.jpg

Motörhead have partnered up with Amplified Ale Works to release two new signature beers this year. Born to Lose IPA, the first of the brews, was released on Friday, April 28 and can be purchased at thebeerconnect.com as well as select retailers in San Diego, C.A.

Born to Lose IPA is described as "a boldly aggressive West Coast-style IPA, befitting of the band's loud, aggressive style. The 6.5% IPA is brewed with Cascade, Simcoe and Citra hops that provide an earthy, resinous aroma with notes of fresh citrus. In an ode to Motörhead's British roots, the beer was also brewed with Maris Otter, a premium British malt that brings a sweet balance to the beer's bold bitterness. "

No details on the second beer have been announced yet.

Moody.jpg

You may recall on Friday, April 21, Revolver published a story that Five Finger Death Punch singer Ivan Moody claimed to be departing from the band in an interview with The Morning Show on KBPI Rocks in Denver, C.O. During the interview, which was his first since he unexpectedly left the band's tour back in December, he said: "To be completely honest with you, Death Punch and I have kind of come to a crossroads. We're very proud of what we've done - years and years and years of work… It's time for us to take our way and go do something else, so after this year... my new band, Villain... I'm so excited."

Moody has since released a statement in which he clarified his statements and explained that he is not leaving the band. The statement said:

"It's no secret that this has been a tough year for me and for my bandmates in Five Finger Death Punch. When you put everything you have into making music, both on and off the stage, it can be very frustrating when the music you work so hard to create is not allowed to see the light of day. I know we share this frustration with our fans too, who have come to expect new music from us — fans who mean everything to us.

"It is true that Five Finger Death Punch has come to a crossroads — and that crossroads is we're all at a place where we will never again let someone or something hold us back from making music for our fans.

"The lawsuit by Prospect Park holding our new album hostage has taken a toll on me. I was in a rehabilitation facility when Prospect Park decided to sue the band last year, and that was very difficult for me to handle all at once.

"Yesterday I made a statement that was taken out of context by the media — a media always looking to create headlines that will make people click them. The truth is, I want to start a side-project like Corey Taylor has with Stone Sour or Maynard has with A Perfect Circle and I want to do it when Five Finger Death Punch's deal with Prospect Park is over and we are out of this lawsuit.

"THIS DOES NOT MEAN I PLAN ON LEAVING FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH!

"The great thing about being a musician today is that you can explore your creativity in multiple ways without compromising your primary focus. I learned this watching people like Corey and Maynard and I think their fans are glad they've put more music out into the world. I hope my fans are, too.

"All that said, Five Finger Death Punch fans can expect our next album via Prospect Park and we are geared up to tour all throughout 2017. We are about to leave for South America and Europe and we have other dates [to be announced].

"All of us in the band have worked incredibly hard over the last ten years to build this band and none of us are going to let that go just because our record company is trying to sabotage us. I am sorry if the media took my statement as a resignation, but I assure you it wasn't."

InternalBleeding.jpg

Internal Bleeding drummer and FDNY firefighter William Tolley has died. While battling an extra-alarm fire in Queens, N.Y. on Thursday, April 20, he fell from a five-story roof. He was 42 years old. He is survived by his wife, Marie, and eight-year-old daughter.

Tolley, a 14-year FDNY veteran, was attempting to move from the roof into a basket on the end of a ladder when the basket shook, causing him to fall out and plummet downward. The blaze had been brought under control by that point.

According to CBS2, construction worker Michael Lewis witnessed the accident. "I seen the fireman go up the ladder, go in the white thing — the bucket — and then the ladder shakes," he said. "I don't know why it jerks or why it shakes. After it shakes, then he fall out. He was already up there on top of the roof in the bucket. There was like two or three firemen already on the roof, and then it shakes, and he fall out."

"It looked like it jerked a little bit, and the door on the side was open, and he was standing over there and he fell out," stated another witness.

FDNY Commissioner Nigro, who called Tolley's death "a terrible tragedy," explained: "The fire was on the second floor. Firefighter Tolley was operating on the roof. That was his position as the outside ventilation firefighter, operating around the area where Ladder 135's bucket was located. Firefighter Tolley fell five stories from the roof and he perished about 20 minutes into fighting that fire. The circumstances of the tragedy and the fall are right now under investigation.

"It was nothing about the fire that really had anything to do with the accident that occurred. It was really in the operation that he was performing on the roof — which is a routine operation for us, and somehow he fell from the roof."

His Internal Bleeding bandmates issued the following statement via Facebook:

"Our drummer, the heartbeat of the band, William Tolley died today. There are ZERO WORDS to describe the loss. He was a good, decent and honorable man who loved his friends, his family and the people he served. There will never be another like him. There are no words to describe the utter sadness and despair we feel right now. We love you Bill."

Revolver sends condolences to Tolley's family, friends and bandmates. R.I.P.

Pantera_2.jpg

Since Pantera disbanded, fans have only seen one never-before-heard track surface. While "Piss" seemed to be the only "lost" track from the band, vocalist Phil Anselmo has revealed in an interview with Capitol Chaos TV that he uncovered a second unreleased Pantera song. According to the frontman, the track is all instrumental.

During the interview, Anselmo explained: "I did find a track I cannot make heads or tails out of and I know it's the guys… But I never did vocals over the top of it, and I'm sure back in the day there was good reason for it. It doesn't really do much — it's like riffs back and forth and that's that — so it must've been just a… I guess, a mulling type of idea that had gone on. Either we put it to bed or just moved on, because, truthfully, [with] Pantera there really was not that much [unreleased material] laying [around], there really wasn't. We used almost everything that we… um, would come up with, I guess, you know."

There is no word on whether or not the band plan on ever releasing the material. Do you think the unreleased track will ever see the light of day? Leave your theories in the comments!

MattHolt.jpg

Former Nothingface singer Matt Holt has died after a battle with an undisclosed illness. He was 39 years old.

Holt's family shared the following statement:

"Matt Holt, former singer of Nothingface, passed away at home in Maryland on April 15. He had been battling a degenerative illness for several years. He is survived by his parents and his younger brother.

"While he had not been active musically in recent years, Holt, who toured the world several times over with his band in the early '00s, is remembered as being an unparalleled talent and as one of most skilled vocalists of his generation, thanks to his incredibly impressive range, which shifted from terrifically brutal to beautifully melodic."

Holt was with Nothingface from its inception in 1993 until 2009. He last appeared on the band's final studio album, 'Skeletons,' which was released in 2003.

Revolver sends condolences to Holt's family and friends. R.I.P.
