Ghosts, Crickets, Drinking in Church: Inside Nothing's "Imperfect" New Album

In part two of our in-depth doc on the making of Nothing's new album, Dance on the Blacktop, the Philly/NYC shoegazers explain how the recording of their third LP was "like a camping trip, but making music" — and a spooky one, at that. The group holed up in scenic Woodstock, New York, with producer John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Nada Surf, Dinosaur Jr.) at a church-turned–recording studio with an allegedly haunted guest house. The band members report that they were legit scared and naturally on edge throughout their time there, but it helped them make sure that raw emotion and magical imperfections didn't get lost during the album-making process.
