On August 31 of this year, Slipknot's fifth studio album, '.5: The Gray Chapter,' was certified gold by the RIAA for selling over 500,000 copies in the United States. Drummer Jay Weinberg posted a photo of the plaque to his Instagram account with the caption "Still surreal. Thanks to everyone who has listened to this album." The photo of Jay holding the plaque can be seen below.

Six months prior to the band's achievement, the RIAA started to factor in album streams in addition to physical copies purchased. Every 1500 plays from various on-demand audio services equates one album sold by the new RIAA standards.

Released October 17, 2014, '.5: The Gray Chapter' was titled in memory of late Slipknot bassist Paul Gray who tragically passed away on May 24, 2010 of a drug overdose. The album was the first to feature Gray's replacement, Alessandro "Vman" Venturella, as well as Jay Weinberg on drums, who replaced Joey Jordison.

The Devil Wears Prada have launched a teaser for forthcoming album, 'Transit Blues,' which will be released on October 7 via Rise Records. The minute and a half long sampler can be streamed below.

The band took a different approach to the recording process for 'Transit Blues.' For the first time, the members lived together full time while writing and creating the album. Produced by Dan Korneff - the same producer behind the band's 'Space' EP - the album's lyrics depict themes of transition, separation, and mourning.

Listen to clips of all 11 songs from 'Transit Blues' below. What do you think of what you've heard so far?

Avatar have debuted the chilling new music video for "Night Never Ending," which appears on the band's latest LP, 'Feathers and Flesh.'

Directed by Johan Carlén – the same mastermind behind the music video for 'The Eagle has landed' – the creepy video features a young girl who has seemingly been kidnapped by a magic cult of masked children. The video follows the girl on her haunting adventure through the woods while a search party desperately looks for her. Despite the song's upbeat and cheerful demeanor, the video itself is loaded with dark visuals and delivers a chilling ending.

Frontman Johannes Eckerström commented, "It's is a special song, being probably the most upbeat and, dare I say, happy piece we've ever released, but under the surface of the fragile message of hope and fighting spirit it is little more than a prelude to a tragedy and that is what we set out to capture when we decided to make a video for it."

He continued, "It is very close to my heart for being the one video where there is no 'rocking out' going on and we get to capture a side of Avatar that is just as integral as the good, headbanging times we love sharing with our supporters all around the world. There are few things in this world as beautiful and fascinating as contrasts and this is what all of Feathers & Flesh is all about. Hope and tragedy."

'Feathers and Flesh' is available now via Entertainment One (eOne).
