Hear GATECREEPER's skull-crushing first song in 3 years

"Caught in the Treads" has us banging our heads

The gates have opened once again.

Arizona death metal crushers Gatecreeper have dropped a blistering new song called "Caught in the Treads." Its their first since 2021's An Unexpected Reality album, and its one for the fuckin' headbangers.

The leads are sizzling, the groove is perfect for stomping heads to, and Chase Mason's vocals are gnarly as ever. Plus, it's produced and mixed by Converge's Kurt Ballou, so it sounds utterly massive.

Blast it above.

"Lyrically the song is about a supernaturally charged fleet of tanks that have been possessed by the souls of fallen soldiers," Mason said in a press release. "It's about revenge and crushing your enemies."

For now, Gatecreeper are remaining mum on whether or not "Caught in the Treads" is part of an upcoming album. Stay tuned for more details on that front.
