The biggest pop star in the world right now has revealed that her favorite band is Rage Against the Machine.

Olivia Rodrigo — the "drivers license" and "good 4 u" singer who just released her sophomore album, Guts, last Friday — said that she's been listening to the politically-charged rap-metal institution nonstop, hinting that their energy may have had an influence on her new record.

"I have been listening to so much Rage Against the Machine this year," Rodrigo told Rolling Stone. "That's my favorite band right now. I would just play it over and over again on my way to and from the studio.

"I want to go to the Rock Hall of Fame so bad because they're getting inducted," she added. Sadly, she's unable to attend the ceremony due to some other unnamed scheduling conflict, and the 20-year-old is utterly heartbroken over it.

"I am literally going to cry myself to sleep about it," she said.

While Rodrigo's love of the "fuck you, I won't do what ya tell me" band might be a surprise to some, her new record, Guts, does feature several full-blown rock songs, including the teetering, distorted rap-rock charge, "get him back!"

Are die-hard fans of Rage Against the Machine likely to be won over by Rodrigo's glitzy heartbreak anthems? Maybe not. But it's awesome to see mainstream pop's preeminent star of the moment showing her appreciation for one of the greatest heavy bands ever.
