After much hype and many teases, Slipknot's seventh studio album, THE END, SO FAR, has finally been announced, and along with that news, the Iowan masked maniacs have unleashed a new single, the propulsive "The Dying Song (Time to Sing)." Heavy in the verses, hooky in the chorus, the song has all the beloved Slipknot touchstones, and some left-field touches, too. Lyrically, it builds on the doomsday theme of the album's title, conjuring images of apocalyptic hordes, nuclear winter and satanic "bosses on the board" while urging th listener to let the world "sing until you die."
