GATECREEPER announce new album: Hear deathrock-infused single

'Dark Superstition' coming later this year

It's finally happening: Gatecreeper are dropping a new album.

The Arizona death-metal crew have announced Dark Superstition, their first LP since 2019's Deserted, and the follow-up to their 2021 mini-album, An Unexpected Reality.

It arrives in May via Nuclear Blast Records, and as the band previously revealed, it was produced by Converge's Kurt Ballou at his esteemed God City Studios. Moreover, Gatecreeper have re-confirmed that Dismember drummer-songwriter Fred Estby was involved in the album-making process, seemingly as a cowriter.

Following last month's skull-crushing single "Caught in the Treads," the band have dropped another album preview today called "The Black Curtain." It's one of the catchiest and most melodically epic songs Gatecreeper have ever released, and the more rock-oriented sound suits them well. Check out it above via YouTube.

"It's about being trapped between living and dying," vocalist Chase Mason said of "The Black Curtain." "A soul trapped in purgatory begging to be brought back by a supernatural force."

Dark Superstition is due out May 17th via Nuclear Blast and you can peep the cover art below.
