See SORRY X's new video for nu-metal cover of ASHNIKKO's "Daisy"

2020 alt-pop single gets screaming makeover

After dropping a pair of nu-metal-dusted singles in 2023, Phoenix-based alt-pop-imploder Sorry X blossomed into the new year with a distortion-dialing cover of Ashnikko's "Daisy." Now, Sorry X continues the spring campaign with a full-blown music video for the track.

The single honors Ashnikko's original through some trap-adjacent beats and a smoothed-out rap flow, but later on Sorry X and her band kaboom into all-fry screams and low-tuned grooves.

As for the video, they're mostly getting grimy in an underground bunker, with a group of corpse-painted teens locking arms daisy chain-style to circle pit around Sorry X. You can see this all up above.

"I'm truly inspired by Ashnikko's ability to push boundaries with fearlessness, and during my months working on new music in the studio, I realized that empowering others with my music is what is most important to me," Sorry X tells Revolver of taking on "Daisy," adding that it's only getting louder from here on.

"I've started moving into a heavier direction with my sound, learning how to scream in the past year. My producer Shea Moore and I just ended up thinking it would be fun to break up our writing sessions with a 'Daisy' cover to introduce where I'm headed."

In addition to covering "Daisy," Sorry X also recently took on Papa Roach's "Leave a Light on (Talk Away the Dark)," earning praise from the band themselves. You can check out that cover below.
