Last year, rapper-singer T-Pain — who pioneered the use of auto-tune in pop and rap music throughout the late 2000s —  shocked the headbanging world when he released a warm and soulful rendition of Black Sabbath's heavy-metal classic "War Pigs."

Shortly after its release, Sabbath bassist-lyricist Geezer Butler chimed in with his approval of T-Pain's un-metal cover version, and now, nearly a year later, Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne has big-upped the song.

Quote-tweeting a video of T-Pain performing "War Pigs" that was posted back in December, Osbourne wrote, "This is the best cover of 'War Pigs' ever. Why didn't you guys call me?"

Given that everyone from Faith No More and Sacred Reich to The Acacia Strain and Weezer have put their own spin on "War Pigs," it's a pretty astounding compliment that Osbourne think's T-Pain's is the finest cover of them all.

The singer quickly expressed his gratitude in the comments, and invited the Prince of Darkness to collaborate with him the next time he plays "War Pigs."

"You're always invited," T-Pain tweeted. "Top of the list, every time! Thank you so much. Means a lot coming from the greatness himself."
